On December 16, 2011 Jeff M. Smith gave an address to a National Security Group of Capitol Hill staffers and outside policy experts that meets on Capitol Hill organized by Ed Corrigan, of the Senate Steering Committee and Frank Gaffney, president of the Center for Security Policy. At the lunch, Smith gave a presentation on the troubled U.S.-Pakistan relationship and the state of future relations.

On Friday, September 23, Jeff M. Smith was interviewed by the Voice of America's Urdu Service regarding CJCS Admiral Mullen's testimony that the Haqqani network was a "vertiable arm" of Pakistan's intelligence service.

On July 13, 2011, Jeff M. Smith, along with colleagues Ilan Berman and Rich Harrison, gave a presentation entitled "The Global Scope of Radical Islam" to the Heritage Foundation. The presenation served as a briefing on AFPC's new World Almanac of Islamism, available at almanac.afpc.org
