Smith spoke to the National Security Lunch on Capitol Hill, a policy group co-hosted by the president of the Center for Security Policy, Frank Gaffney, and Ed Corrigan, Executive Director of the Senate Steering Committee.  Jeff addressed the U.S.-India relationship under President Obama and India's national security challenges in the 21st century, including Pakistan, China, and a Maoist insurgency. From January 5-18, AFPC Research Fellow Jeff M. Smith conducted a fact-finding mission throughout northern India. The trip consisted of a tour through several Indian cities - New Delhi, Agra, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Vrindivan, and Amritsar - to conduct interviews with politicians, academics, and security officials regarding the state of U.S.-Indian relations, the upcoming parliamentary elections, anti-terrorism efforts in the wake of the Mumbai attacks, Kashmir, and India's relations with neighbors such as Pakistan, China, Russia, and Iran.

On September 19, 2008, AFPC Research Fellow Jeff Smith was interviewed by Pakistan's Dawn news radio regarding the current state of U.S.-Pakistani relations.

 On September 3-4, 2008, AFPC Vice President for Policy Ilan Berman was interviewed by the Iranian reformist newspaper E'temad regarding future U.S. policy toward the Islamic Republic. 

On August 1, 2008, AFPC Research Fellow Jeff M. Smith was interviewed by the Voice of America regarding revelations that Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence Agency (ISI) was actively involved in a bombing against the Indian Embassy in Afghanistan and attacks on Coalition troops.

On March 5-9, 2008, AFPC Vice President for Policy Ilan Berman visited London, England as a guest of the Henry Jackson Society, Ilan gave presentations before Members of Parliament in the British House of Commons and scholars at boh the London School of Economics and International Institute for Strategic Studies on the subject of Iran and evolving U.S. policy toward the Middle East.

AFPC President Herman Pirchner traveled to Moscow in February 2007 to witness and briefly speak before a meeting of Russia’s Public Chamber. The Public Chamber is a new institution in Russia - a national body created by statue which advises the legislature (State Duma) and President on relevant legislation and monitors the implementation of new laws. The Chamber, whose members serve for unpaid, two-year terms, is composed of respected Russian professionals and academics with no ties to political parties.

On September 28, 2006, AFPC Vice President for Policy Ilan Berman testified before a joint hearing of the U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on International Terrorism and Nonproliferation and Subcommittee on the Middle East and Central Asia on the capabilities and ideology of the Hezbollah terrorist organization.

In early April, AFPC President Herman Pirchner, Jr. and Pentagon Defense Science Board Chairman (And AFPC Advisory Board member)) William Schneider, Jr., traveled to India for a meetings with top officials in New Delhi.

On February 1^st, AFPC Vice President for Policy Ilan Berman was one of three experts to testify before the full Committee on Armed Services of the U.S House of Representatives on the subject of confronting a nuclear Iran.
