On April 2, 2009 AFPC Research Fellow Jeff Smith was interviewed by Voice of America's Issues and Opinions Mandarin Service on the security situation in Pakistan, President Obama's new "Af-Pak" strategy, and China's role in South Asia.

 On October 8, 2008, AFPC Senior Fellow in National Security Affairs James S. Robbins testified before the District of Columbia City Council on the issue of divestment from Iran. 

 On September 3-4, 2008, AFPC Vice President for Policy Ilan Berman was interviewed by the Iranian reformist newspaper E'temad regarding future U.S. policy toward the Islamic Republic. 

In August, AFPC again partnered with the McCormick Tribune Foundation to host a working group on the threat posted by Iran and potential U.S. responses. The event, a follow-on to last year's AFPC-McCormick conference, "Forging an Iran Strategy," brought together leading national security experts, former government officials, military specialists and civic leaders to examine the next steps in the unfolding crisis with Iran.

On February 1^st, AFPC Vice President for Policy Ilan Berman was one of three experts to testify before the full Committee on Armed Services of the U.S House of Representatives on the subject of confronting a nuclear Iran.

Through the generous support of the Pew Charitable Trusts of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the American Foreign Policy Council has been able to conduct an in-depth study of the U.S. foreign aid program.  This study project has culminated in a book entitled Modernizing Foreign Assistance: Resource Management as an Instrument of Foreign Policy.  With the final manuscript now with the publisher, Praeger Publishing of New York, the book is scheduled to be released in Summer 1992.
