AFPC Kraemer Strategy Fellow Jeff M. Smith has received funding to produce a major study on Sino-Indian relations to be conducted over the next year.

On September 21, AFPC Kraemer Strategy Fellow Jeff M. Smith hosted the last mayor of Pakistan’s largest city and commercial capital, Karachi, at AFPC’s recently remodeled headquarters.

An AFPC delegation to India between January 16 and January 24 included AFPC President Herman Pirchner, Jr.; Gen. Richard Myers (ret.), former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (2001-2005); and Dr. William Schneider, former chairman (2001-2009) and current member of the Department of Defense’s Defense Science Board.

On July 28, AFPC Kraemer Strategy Fellow Jeff Smith, along with President Herman Pirchner, Jr.,  hosted a lunch for a visiting Indian official, Mr. Ram Madhav, member of the Central Executive of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

From January 5-18, AFPC Research Fellow Jeff M. Smith conducted a fact-finding mission throughout northern India. The trip consisted of a tour through several Indian cities - New Delhi, Agra, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Vrindivan, and Amritsar - to conduct interviews with politicians, academics, and security officials regarding the state of U.S.-Indian relations, the upcoming parliamentary elections, anti-terrorism efforts in the wake of the Mumbai attacks, Kashmir, and India's relations with neighbors such as Pakistan, China, Russia, and Iran.
