AFPC Co-Hosts Ukraine Security Briefing

On June 23, 2005, AFPC, in cooperation with the Center for US-Ukrainian Relations (CUSUR) and the Ukrainian Countress Committee of America (UCCA), sponsored the second annual U.S.-Ukrainian Security Dialogue on Capitol Hill.

Speakers included Rep. Curt Weldon (R-PA), the Hon. Oleh Shamshur, Ukraine’s Ambassador to the United States, and representatives from the U.S. Department of State and Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.

The U.S.-Ukrainian Security Dialogue conference series is designed to expand communication between representatives of the U.S. and Ukrainian defense and security establishments on a number of critical issues affecting the contemporary relationship between Washington and Kyiv, among them areas of bilateral “strategic” interest as well as the pace of Ukraine’s NATO accession process.
