AFPC Kraemer Strategy Fellow Jeff M. Smith continues to serve as the chairman of the South Asia Discussion Group for the Young Professionals in Foreign Policy (YPFP) organization, a network over 5,000 foreign policy professionals in Washington, DC and New York City.  On October 25, Smith moderated a discussion attended by two dozen South Asia practitioners at the Center for Strategic and International Studies featuring Osama Javaid, a journalist for Dawn News, Pakistan’s largest English-language news outlet.  Mr. Javaid spoke about the troubled state of U.S.-Pakistan relationship and Islamist extremism in his country.
