AFPC Hosts Dinner With Mr. Andrei Kolosovsky Charge d’Affaires of the Russian Embassy

Sponsored by American Foreign Policy Council
Washington, DC
December 27, 1992

Last December, Mr. Andrei Kolosovsky, Charge d’Affaires of the Russian Embassy, was the guest of honor at an AFPC-sponsored dinner in Washington, D.C.  Kolosovsky, who served previously as chief of the political department of the Russian Foreign Ministry and as Deputy Foreign Minister, addressed important foreign policy matters.  He offered current and former U.S. officials an opportunity to deliberate a wide array of issues in a spirited, but off-the-record discussion.

The event attracted several distinguished guests.  Those in attendance include Dr. Roger Crossley, President and CEO of Vestar, Inc.; Dr. Fred Ikle, former Undersecretary of Defense; Dr. David Krebs, publisher of The National Times; General William Odom, former Director of the National Security Agency; The Honorable Richard Schifter, former Assistant Secretary of State; and Mr. R. James Woolsey, CIA Director.

Key factors in Russia’s continuing struggle for political reform were discussed: the attempt to privatize companies, promote political pluralism, and decentralize political power by giving more autonomy to local officials.
