On April 5, a consortium of New Zealand universities convened the "Second New Zealand National Security Conference" in Auckland, New Zealand. AFPC Senior Fellow for Asia James Clad spoke at the conference's sessions on "Global and Regional Security" and "United States and Regional Security," and exchanged views with New Zealand's Minister of Justice, Andrew Little. The conference, which is the preeminent annual New Zealand international security gathering, focused on China's impact in the region, positive and negative, as well as a range of traditional and nontraditional topics. The senior leadership of the Prime Minister's and Cabinet offices in Wellington attended, as did invitees from the Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies in Honolulu and cyber security specialists from the University of North Georgia, in the U.S..
