AFPC hosts a delegation of Japanese security experts

On January 5th, AFPC Director of Asian Security Programs Jeff M. Smith hosted a delegation of Japanese security experts at AFPC’s Capitol Hill headquarters. The delegation was led by Tetsuo Kotani of the Japan Institute for International Affairs and Sugio Takahashi of Japan’s National Institute for Defense Studies. They were accompanied by five Japanese scholars and academics.

The discussion, which involved one dozen U.S.-based experts on Asian security, centered on China, maritime security, and how a Trump administration’s Asia policy might differ from that of its predecessors.
