Calla O’Neil

Research Fellow and Program Officer

Calla O’Neil joined the American Foreign Policy Council as a Research Fellow and Program Officer in January 2026. A former research intern at AFPC, Calla specializes in Middle East politics and security, as well as climate security, Great Power Competition and global governance, and nuclear arms policy. Her analysis has appeared in The National Interest, National Security Journal, and 1945.  Prior to joining AFPC, Calla interned at the Department of Commerce in its Office of Policy and Strategy Planning, as well as overseas in Armenia on the staff of the Women’s National Basketball Team. Calla will graduate in May from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.
