Rob Pierce joined AFPC as a Fellow in National Security Affairs in January 2026. He is Vice President at American Global Strategies (AGS), an international strategic advisory firm, where he works primarily in the defense, defense tech, and technology practices. Prior to joining AGS, Rob worked at the Defense Intelligence Agency, where he served first as a Branch Chief in the Deputy Directorate for Global Integration and then as a Military Capabilities Analyst in the China Mission Group. Before that, he served seven years on active duty as a U.S. Navy Intelligence Officer, deploying to Iraq with SEAL Team THREE and thereafter to Guam. Before joining the Navy, Rob worked on Capitol Hill for U.S. Senator Rob Portman.
Pierce’s writings have appeared in The National Interest, Washington Examiner, RealClearDefense, The National Security Journal, and The Small Wars Journal. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Wake Forest University, and a Masters in Security Studies from Georgetown University.
