Erlan Benedis-Grab joined the American Foreign Policy Council as a Junior Fellow in August 2026. A former AFPC intern, his research focuses on Central Asian politics, energy policy and international trade, as well as broader international economic issues. 

Erlan is a graduate of Indiana University-Bloomington holding a B.A. in Central Eurasian Studies and Economics. He has previously also been an intern with the International Tax and Investment Center.
