In August, AFPC again partnered with the McCormick Tribune Foundation to host a working group on the threat posted by Iran and potential U.S. responses. The event, a follow-on to last year's AFPC-McCormick conference, "Forging an Iran Strategy," brought together leading national security experts, former government officials, military specialists and civic leaders to examine the next steps in the unfolding crisis with Iran.
The event, co-chaired by AFPC Vice President for Policy Ilan Berman and Gen. Dave Grange, USA (ret.), President and CEO of The McCormick Tribune Foundation, explore the various diplomatic, economic, informational, intelligence and military methods by which the United States can confront and defuse the contemporary threat posed by Iran to American security and U.S. interests.
The resulting white paper, entitled "Confronting Iran: U.S. Options," will be published by the McCormick Tribune Foundation in November and subsequently distributed widely among policymakers within the Washington Beltway.
