Defense Technology Program Briefing: “Directed Energy Weapons - Understanding their uses, risks, and options”

On December 1, AFPC continued its series of lunchtime briefings for Congressional staff on issues affecting defense and national security with a briefing titled, Directed Energy Weapons: Understanding their uses, risks, and options.  Dr. William Schneider, former Under Secretary of State and current DoD Science Board member, delivered a presentation and discussion moderated by AFPC Director of Defense Technology Programs Rich Harrison. The two provided an overview on the classifications of directed energy weapons, discussed their various uses, and reviewed how far U.S. adversaries had come in developing directed energy weapons.
