On June 23, 2009, the Independent Working Group (IWG) - of which the American Foreign Policy Council is a co-sponsor - will host a one-day roundtable discussion to explore the broad spectrum of strategic challenges and threats now confronting the United States, and the urgent need to develop a comprehensive counterproliferation strategy that includes missile defense in response. The goal of the event will be to introduce the IWG's 2009 Report (available here) and to consider broader issues of homeland security, national security, and counterproliferation strategy.

The event will take place at the Capitol Hill Club, 300 First Street SE, Washington, DC, beginning at 9:30 AM and ending no later than 4:00 PM.
