In early May, AFPC Vice President Berman traveled to Istanbul, Turkey to participate in the 16th annual Global Leadership Forum convened by Bahcesehir University.
At the high-profile conference, which was attended by senior Turkish politicians and foreign diplomats, Berman gave a presentation on the current state of the U.S.-Turkish relationship, and outlined issues where bilateral ties between Ankara and Washington diverge. He additionally lectured on the long-term strategic implications of Russian policy in Ukraine for both NATO and Middle Eastern states. While in Istanbul, Ilan also met with leading Turkish academics, statesmen and experts to discuss the current dynamics of Turkish internal politics and foreign policy.
