From November 4-10, AFPC sponsored a delegation to China led by Dr. James (Jim) Miller, former Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and included: Dr. Richard Rahn, former Vice President and Chief Economist of the Chamber of Commerce of the United States; Mr. Josh Eisenman, AFPC Senior Fellow in China Studies; Mr. Rich Harrison, AFPC Research Fellow and Program Officer; and Mrs. Liz Wood, AFPC Special Programs Coordinator. The fact-finding economic delegation traveled to Beijing, Shanghai, and Shijiazhuang City and held meetings with leaders in think tanks and political and economic institutions. The delegates discussed the state of the Chinese financial system and what plans the Chinese have for their currency, among other topics.
