Defense Technology Program Briefing: “Unmanned Aerial Vehicles”

On March 8, AFPC’s Defense Technology Program held a briefing for Congressional staff on the topic of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs or drones). The event featured a presentation by Major General Frederick Roggero (USAF, Ret.), a former commander of Air Force units who served at the Department of State and on the Joint Staff in the Pentagon. During his remarks, Gen. Roggero addressed the current policy questions relating to drones—including their use in counterterrorism operations, the acquisition and operation of drones by the general public, and evolving regulations and legislation governing their use.
