On June 15, AFPC hosted a private dinner in the U.S. Capitol for a visiting delegation of Ukrainian officials headed by Rada Speaker Andriy Parubiy and Health Minister Ulana Suprun. Dinner guests included a range of U.S. specialists and statesmen, including former Under Secretaries of State (and AFPC Advisory Board members) William Schneider, Jr. and Richard McCormack, to discuss the current state of political play in Ukraine, as well as the evolving nature of relations between Kyiv and Washington under the Trump administration.

In his remarks, Speaker Parubiy highlighted the significant strides made in recent months by the Ukrainian government in garnering greater attention and support from the U.S. in its ongoing asymmetric war against Russia.

Minister Suprun underscored progress made by Ukraine under her supervision on its national health system, and medical care provided to the country’s warfighters. However, she noted that reforms and improvements in this sector constitute one of the most pressing challenges facing the current government in Kyiv.
