From September 4 – 10, AFPC Vice President Ilan Berman traveled to Herzliya, Israel to participate in the 15th annual World Summit on Counter-Terrorism.

At the conference, which represents the world’s leading venue for counter-terrorism practitioners, Ilan spoke on the subject of Iran’s global ambitions – mapping out Iran’s activities in various world theaters, and how this behavior is likely to change and intensify as a result of the recently-concluded nuclear agreement between Iran and the West. While in Israel, Ilan also held meetings with an array of politicians, experts and government officials to gauge the current state of U.S.-Israeli ties, Israeli views on the Iran nuclear deal, and the evolving challenges to Israeli security posed by instability in the Palestinian Territories, the regional rise of the Islamic State terrorist group, and the Syrian civil war.
