On May 5, AFPC formally unveiled the digital version of its ground-breaking new analytical resource on radical Islam, the World Almanac of Islamism, at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. The press event featured a keynote address by former U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security and two-time Pennsylvania Governor Thomas J. Ridge, who described the Almanac as “the first, comprehensive, ongoing resource of its kind of tracking Islamism as a political phenomenon.”

Featuring 58 country studies, as well as seven chapters covering global Islamist movements, the Almanac provides a yearly look at the scope and breadth of Islamism worldwide. The digital version of the project is already online and publicly accessible at almanac.afpc.org. A print version, to be published in partnership with Rowman & Littlefield, will be commercially available in mid-to-late-August.

The Almanac has already garnered critical acclaim and is being used as a valuable resource by U.S. government officials.
