On  March 10, AFPC convened a Capitol Hill conference of leading experts to examine Iranian ideology, strategic culture, and foreign policy objectives.

On February 11, AFPC Vice President Ilan Berman was one of four experts called to testify before the House Foreign Affairs Committee’s Subcommittee on Terrorism, Nonproliferation, and Trade regarding the global threat posed by the Islamic Republic of Iran.

On February 16, 2012, AFPC Vice President Ilan Berman testified before the U.S Senate Committee on Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Western Hemisphere, Peace Corps, and Global Narcotics Affairs on the topic of "Iran's Influence And Activity In Latin America."

On May 5, AFPC formally unveiled the digital version of its ground-breaking new analytical resource on radical Islam, the World Almanac of Islamism, at the National Press Club in Washington, DC. The press event featured a keynote address by former U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security and two-time Pennsylvania Governor Thomas J. Ridge, who described the Almanac as “the first, comprehensive, ongoing resource of its kind of tracking Islamism as a political phenomeno
