On February 29, First Deputy Speaker of the Rada (Ukraine’s parliament) Andriy Parubiy met with a small group of senior AFPC specialists on Ukraine and Russia led by former Under Secretary of State (and AFPC Advisory Board member) Robert Joseph and AFPC President Herman Pirchner, Jr.
On February 29, AFPC hosted a very lively two-panel debate series on Capitol Hill. Titled “The Executive Branch vs. Congressional Prerogatives in National Security Decisions,” the debate witnessed a substantive discussion among senior experts and former high-ranking government officials.
On February 26, AFPC joined several Ukrainian-American organizations in co-sponsoring a Washington, DC conference exploring Russia’s agenda in Ukraine, the Baltic countries and other neighboring states.
On February 11, AFPC Vice President Ilan Berman was one of three experts called to testify before the House Homeland Security Committee’s Subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence regarding the evolving nature of the threat posed by the Islamic Republic of Iran to the U.S. homeland.
